The California Honeydrops were the perfect band to continue the fun, kind of retro vibe that Neal Francis started. This wasn’t their first time at the Joshua Tree Music festival, so they knew the exact right energy to bring to the crowd – many of whom, it seemed, were here just for them. They closed out Saturday with a two-hour set that showed off their range from mellow bluesy beats to a brassy big band sound.
the perfect vibe to dance to in the desert
Their music was so danceable that it was almost more fun to watch them from the back of the audience, to see everyone moving along with them. From their impressive sax to their unique tuba on stage, they brought the funk, and it was the perfect vibe to dance to in the desert.
