When listening to The Big Pink I picture it taking a squadron of artists to bring their digital rock sound to life. I can see bleachers loaded with a choir ready to hum and sing and chant along. I picture instruments with names I’ve never heard of creating unsuspecting sounds that seamlessly blend into melodies along side the guitars and drums. Fortunately for their touring career it doesn’t take a full on militia to create their sound live. In fact, it’s only a 3 person act boasting a drummer, guitarist on lead vocals and a DJ to round out their electronic backings. It was definitely a fun set. Though I do hope the future involves larger collaborations for the band. It would be great to see a more diverse collection of artists on stage building their sound.
