Cain Culto brought every part of themselves to opening the night for Sudan Archives at the Pearl in Vancouver, BC. Wielding his electric violin, defying genres and rocking leather chaps, a fierce mask, and other sexy surprises, he brought pure fire to the stage. Cain’s set was stacked with heavy-hitting songs with beats as deep as his multi-faceted roots, weaving bluegrass, hip hop, pop, and queer brilliance – a perfect mix of song and performance art. Though he has rejected the fundamentalist religion he was brought up with, he gave us every reason to congregate.
