Thank goodness! In today’s newer music it’s getting harder and harder to find a talented vocalist making passionate songs in a more tenor and baritone range. Admittedly, I wasn’t expecting the stage to be so full of musicians to make these songs in a live setting. The complexities to harmonize and sync up when performing with this many people increase exponentially.
Hozier and his band bring it all together live. What’s more is they are so obviously happy an engaged with the crowd while doing so. It’s not to say that the songs are of the happiest subject matter either. Hozier’s tunes are darker and deeper and scratch the boundaries or life and death. I suppose seeing the way an audience was connecting would bring a smile to any musicians face.
