Hailing from New Jersey may typically bring to mind pictures of greasy hair and beaches. We can thank MTV for that. Or hate them for it. Your call. Thankfully for New Jersey’s sake, there’s something much more wholesome than G.T.L. that can be claimed theirs—The Gaslight Anthem. If you only saw them walking down the street or getting on stage you might be quick to judge and peg this crew as punk. Sure, they may have launched out of a more local punk scene, but this band is seriously rock and roll. They make bluesy rock goodness that helps them tell stories from their lives. Their Lollapalooza performance kept hands in the air and fans cheering.
