The EDM duo of Christian Srigley and Leighton James, otherwise known as Adventure Club, appeared at Elektricity in Pontiac, Michigan on the seventh stop of their Love // Chaos tour. Supported by openers ALRT and Blanke, Adventure Club finally took the main stage around 12:30pm, and the night started with a bang.
The fans flocked from all over Michigan to see “AC”; a demographic of energetic, head-banging 20-somethings.
When the show finally started, the lights dimmed and the crowd erupted. Adventure Club appeared on stage after a short video montage, and the performance got going. The music was a unique mixture of songs, both old and new. The set featured popular tracks from the latest Love // Chaos album, as well as some older favorites like Gold, Crash 2.0 and Rise & Fall. The energy in the room was infectious, until the very end.
What impressed me the most were the eye-catching visuals used by the group throughout the night. With everything from intense laser beams, to “trading card”-style screen animations, to anime characters, the graphics were certainly pretty captivating.
Overall, Adventure Club put on an entertaining performance. It’s one that I’m glad I spent my Saturday night attending, and I look forward to seeing them again, whenever that may be.
