The California-based psychedelic garage rock quartet Allah-Las delivered a solid performance to the full house at The Vic. With much anticipation after their well-received self-titled debut album, the group performed a short but cohesive set. The Allah-Las stand apart from most other ’60s revival psych-pop bands, particularly as a live act. They are clearly a very tight-knit group of talented musicians striving for perfection with every jangly pop hook. Their music is fun and easygoing but make no mistakes—the Allah-Las are serious about their music and obviously spend a great deal of time perfecting their retro sound. Thus, making every part of their live performance very enjoyable and consistent with the sound fans have come to love.
